The transmutation of coal mine gas into electrical and thermal power takes place in a Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHPP). The supplied fuel energy is being transmuted into approximately 41 % of electrical and about 45 % of thermal energy.

With local CHPPs mostly consisting of one to six modules power and heat with an efficiency of up to 86 %produce are produced. The control of power and heat production is carried out fully automatically.
